When you submit it should automatically convert text to smileys, were appropriate. So if you did : and the ) it would make

(which will show up as a smiley, not as the characters typed. There are a dozen or so smileys that joeuser does that for you on, but in theory you could insert any graphic to use for a smiley. Reversly, if you eidt your post it is in html code and won't turn text into smileys. Hope that helps.

Yes, thanks. No, you're right, there is nothing wrong with being cheerful all the time but unfortunately I'm not that cheery!
